Numerical Analysis of Reinforced Concrete Circular Columns Strengthening With CFRP under Concentric and Eccentric Loadings

The purpose of this study is to explore the numerical behavior circular RC short columns with different degrees confinement CFRP (0%, 25%, 50%, and 100%) wraps under concentric eccentric loading. analysis carried out by using an improved concrete plastic-damage model (CDPM) implemented in ABAQUS software for finite element (FE) analysis. FE simulated a total twenty-four specimens. findings were matched published experimental test results literature. data good similar. As consequence, was found be valid. shows that as load eccentricity increased, carrying capacity decreased unconfined specimens, whereas decline strength confined specimens becomes limited ratio increased. In addition, increasing improves column's load-bearing capability at same eccentricity.
